in early 2009 in collaboration between 5miles Communications Ltd, the Leigh Park Community Improvement Partnership and the E-Learning Foundation, the Leigh Park CommunityUK Wireless Broadband Project came into being. This relationship has since expanded to include Havant Borough Council, Hampshire County Council.

Also, as a direct result of the project, CommunityUK has been created as both a UK company and brand based in Havant which, along with 5miles Communications, is now part of the newly launched "Digital Britain Corporation" (also based in Havant).
